This ground beef and bowtie pasta dish was a hit with my kids. They loved the mild flavors and had nothing but good reviews! I loved that it was easy enough for a quick, warm lunch on a cold winter day. Served with butter bread and hot vegetables, everyone was full and satisfied!

As I am blogging about this recipe, my husband made this for lunch today, and the reviews were priceless! “Hamburger Helper 2.0!” “This is amazingly good for such simple ingredients.” “Buttered toast with this is the bomb!” “I am going to need a good nap after this!” “I want a LOT!” I think this recipe speaks for itself. It is so easy and so darn good. From our 4-year-old to our 14-year-old, this is a family-favorite recipe!

How to make Creamy Ground Beef and Bowtie Pasta

This Ground Beef and Bowtie Pasta is a beginner recipe that’s the perfect comfort food. Simply brown and season the ground beef, add the broth, cook the pasta, mix in cheese, and garnish for a delightful, family-friendly pasta dish! This easy beef recipe is the perfect meal for lazy days or busy weeknights! It comes together seamlessly and can be served as is or paired with any vegetable side or salad.

Ingredients for Creamy Ground Beef and Bowtie Pasta

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup medium onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • This could be omitted if desired, but I think it adds a nice depth and flavor.
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups bowtie pasta(farfalle)(dry measurement)
    • Farfalle substitutions include shell pasta, mini penne, or mezzi (half) rigatoni.
    • Random trivia: The word farfalle, pronounced “far-FALL-ay”, means butterfly in Italian but is commonly referred to as bow tie pasta because of its signature shape. I always love learning something new!
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions for Creamy Ground Beef and Bowtie Pasta

First, in a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onions and minced garlic over medium heat until no longer pink. Constantly stir to break up the beef into a crumble. (Drain off excess grease if desired.) Then, season the meat with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Storing Creamy Beef and Bowtie Pasta

Store leftover creamy ground beef and bowtie pasta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The pasta will continue to absorb the liquid the longer it sits. Reheat the beef and pasta in the microwave or a skillet on the stove on low heat.

We have Alpha Gal so no beef, pork, venison, rabbit, or lamb. I substituted ground turkey, chicken broth, plant based heavy cream.. My daughter was so happy. She has been craving beef and noodles HOWEVER THIS HAS SCORED THE WIN. SHE DIDNT MISS THE MEAT PART AND NOW WE HAVE A LITTLE HEALTHIER VERSION

Hey Alex, I just made this again last night for supper… It’s great reheated but the pasta will continue to absorb the sauce as it sits. You can make it, and if it’s too dry when reheated, add a splash of cream or milk.
