Quick and Easy Homemade Mac and Cheese

This crockpot mac and cheese recipe only takes five ingredients. It is that easy! Simply add macaroni noodles, milk, butter, salt, and Velveeta cheese to your slow cooker, set it and forget it!

This mac and cheese cooks for 2-3 hours on high and it is best to stir occasionally. If you notice the sauce not thickening, cook for 10-15 minutes uncovered to release moisture. Once the noodles are tender, set to keep warm and serve immediately. This is a perfect recipe for busy lunches because you can prep it all in the morning!

Lastly, we just love how we can customize this recipe! Our family loves to keep mac and cheese simple with a sprinkle of back pepper on top. It adds the perfect amount of kick.

Some of the more daring kids like to use a splash of hot sauce on their mac and cheese. Please be careful, a little hot sauce goes a long way!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow noodles To strech this recipe further, you can add up to ½ cup more noodels.
  • 4 cups milk
  • 16 ounce Velveeta cheese or melty cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease the crockpot with cooking spray. Combine all ingredients into a crockpot and cook for 2-3 hours on high or until noodles are soft. Stir occationally.

Notes

  1. To thicken the sauce, cook with the lid removed for 10-15 minutes. 
  2. Garnish with your choice of toppings.
