Cream of mushroom and dry onion soup mix slow-cooked over cube steaks makes a super tasty and tender steak covered in a thick and creamy brown gravy that your whole family will love! This slow cooker cube steak recipe is simple with just three ingredients and the results leave you feeling like you ate a hearty meal without spending all day in the kitchen. It’s a win, win!
How to make Crockpot Cube Steaks
This easy slow cooker cube steaks recipe is three ingredients and three steps!
First, evenly spread a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup on the bottom of your slow cooker or crockpot.
Next, separately add each cube steak to the crockpot. Allow for some gaps so the liquids can get in between each steak.
Lastly, spread the second can of cream of mushroom soup on the steaks. Then sprinkle the dry onion soup mix on top.
Cook for 6-8 hours on low. The steaks are done when they are no longer pink and are tender to pull at with a fork. Cooking them low on heat and slow(6-8 hours) makes them super tender, almost to the point where they fall apart when moved. My kids love the fact that these steaks practically melt in their mouths. No tough meat here!

Correction ONE at a time.
Is there a different choice than mushroom (if I hate mushrooms)?
Thanks so much, love your site.
Julie - The Recipe Life
Thanks for catching that correction! I would suggest cream of chicken or cream of celery. You can also do the same amount of sour cream. Sour cream will also give that creamy gravy.

Do you add water to the canned mushroom soup?
Julie - The Recipe Life
You do not. Just add soup as is. Thanks!

Fantastic recipe with the best flavor. I also just threw in a small cube of beef bullion to give it a little extra beef flavor. I loved the idea of spreading the can of the mushroom soup in first so that the steaks would be sitting on the soup . These cube steaks could not be any more tender or they would just fall apart. Great recipe and thanks for sharing it.

What a great recipe. Not only easy but tenderize the meat so well! It’s cooking right now and smells amazing. I used 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of celery in place of cream of mushrooms. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait til dinnertime.

Can I substitute beefy onion soup mix instead of onion soup mix with using cream of mushroom soup?
Julie - The Recipe Life
I think that would be fine!
