2teaspoonsgarlic powder
2teaspoonsonion powder
1teaspoonblack pepper
2cupsFrench's friend onion
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a large 5QT cast-iron skillet(or stainless steel pan), brown the ground beef until no longer pink with the diced onion. Once browned, add the minced garlic and let it cook for a minute. Then drain away any excess grease. (We use very lean meat and don't drain off the drippings) Once cooked, set the meat aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup, 8 ounces of shredded cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Add the cooked meat to the large bowl with the hash browns, and stir to combine. Place this meat-and-potato mixture back into the oven-safe skillet/cast iron or a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake the casserole uncovered for 45 minutes.
Remove the dish from the oven. Sprinkle the crsipy friend onions and the remaining shredded cheese over the top of it. Bake the dish again until the onions are a deep golden brown, about 10 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy
