Notes
When working with ice cream sandwiches, it's important to work fast so your cake doesn't completely melt before it's made. Having all items prepared beforehand (like crushing the Oreos) and quickly unwrapping the ice cream sandwiches(Even kids love to help out here!) seems to work out the best.
If the hot fudge topping is hard to get out of the jar or doesn't want to mix, try heating it in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time or just to the point of syrup for easier mixing. Don't overheat it or it will melt your ice cream.
If you are finding that your cake is melting rapidly, put it back in the freezer to chill and harden for around an hour.
This cookies and cream ice cream cake can be made a day in advance for easier party planning.
