Prep Time 10 minutes
Cooling 30 minutes
Servings 24 treats

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Rice Krispies cereal 8-10 cups of rice crisps cereal
  • 20 ounces mini marshmallows plus 1-2 cups
  • 2 cups about 20 Oreo cookies crush by hand
  • ½ cup salted butter 1 stick
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Garnishes

  • More Crushed Oreos
  • 4 ounces Vanilla Almond Bark
  • 2 Tablespoons Sprinkles for festive seasonal fun

Instructions

  • Measure out the Rice Krispies and put them in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Add the vanilla extract. Next, add the mini marshmallows in increments to the butter and continuously stir them until melted down. I add one full bag of marshmallows and slowly add more as they melt.
  • Once the marshmallows are melted into a smooth mixture, add in the extra 1-2 cups of mini marshmallows and mix in. (The extra marshmallows do not need to melt.) Then, pour it into the bowl of Rice Krispies and gently stir them a turn or two. Now, add the crushed Oreos and stir until all cereal is coated. Do NOT over-stir.
  • Gently press the treats into a lightly greased 10x15-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish with the back of a spatula. (Do NOT firmly press these, or your bars will be dense and hard to eat.)
Optional: Top with a dusting of sprinkles, more crushed Oreos, or melted almond bark/chocolate.
  • Let them cool for at least 30 minutes to one hour. With a sharp knife, cut the treats into squares and Enjoy! *Although these can be eaten immediately, they taste better and are easy to hold once they are completely cooled.
