BBQ Green Beans

This BBQ Green Bean recipe transforms ordinary green beans into extraordinary green beans coated with a sweet and savory BBQ sauce and topped with coveted, crunchy bacon bits. It's a slow cooker recipe for potlucks, BBQs, family parties, and holidays!

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces frozen green beans
  • 4 ounces bacon, diced or 4 slices plus more for garnish
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • In a skillet, fry the bacon until crispy. Drain off all but one tablespoon of grease. Then, saute the onions until wilted and browned. Remove from heat.
  • Mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  • Add your drained green beans to the bottom of a slow cooker. Then, top the green beans with the sauce, cooked bacon, and onions.
  • Cook on low for 2 hours, then gently stir to combine the green beans with the sauce, bacon, and onions. Finally, cook on low for an additional 1-2 hours. Enjoy!
