Ingredients
4poundspotatoes peeled and cubed
8ounce cream cheesesoftened and cubed
8ounce sour cream
½cupbutter (1 stick)softened and cubed
1½teaspoonsalt
½teaspoon pepper
Optional Toppings for loaded mashed potatoes
¼cupgreen onions chopped
3ouncebacon bits
½cupshredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Put peeled and cubed potatoes in a large stockpot with enough water to just to cover the potatoes and bring them to a boil over medium heat. Then let them simmer until tender or easily broken with a fork.
Drain and return to pot. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, butter, salt, and pepper. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until smooth and everything is combined.
Serve loaded with the bacon bits, green onions, and shredded cheese or your favorite toppings! Enjoy!!
