Ingredients

  • 16 ounces French baguette 1 loaf
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • First, slice your baguette into ¼ inch thick slices and place the baguette slices on a rimmed, non-stick baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Next, mix the olive oil and garlic powder in a small bowl. Then taking a pastry brush, brush the oil over each baguette slice. Make sure to stir the oil and garlic powder occasionally as you go to evenly reincorporate the garlic powder.
  • Lastly, bake the baguette slices at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes until you see the baguette slices browned to your preference.
Remove from oven, cool, and enjoy!

Notes

Hint: I bake these for the full 20 minutes when I want them to be extra crispy under bruschetta or to use with dips that have a more liquid base. If you are using them as a crostini for a thick dip that doesn't have a lot of moisture baking the baguette for only 15 minutes would be perfect giving you a slightly toasted bread effect.
