For this bar recipe, I used a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan. You can use a jelly roll pan with dimensions similar to these, and it will be perfectly fine. These Oreo Rice Krispies also fit into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Remember, they will be thicker in a pan with smaller dimensions and thinner in a larger jelly roll pan.
Ingredients to Rice Krispie Treats with Oreos
- 12 ounces Rice Krispies Cereal, about 8-10 cups of cereal
- Feel free to use Rice Krispies, Crispy Rice, or Rice Crisps. The best thing about Rice Krispies is that they are simply puffed, oven-toasted rice, and that means there’s little room for variation, and even the off-brands taste great!
- 20 ounces mini marshmallows, 2-10 ounce bags plus 1-2 cups extra mini marshmallows
- For this recipe, it’s good but not necessary to add the extra marshmallows because there is more surface area with the sandwich cookies added to the recipe.
- 20 Oreo sandwich cookies/ about 2 cups crushed cookies, crush with your hands
- Name-brand or off-brand works great! We love Aldi’s Benton’s ‘Oreo” cookies.
- Experiment with different flavored Oreos
- ½ cup salted butter, one stick
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Garnishes for Extra Good Oreo Rice Krispie Treats
- More Oreos!
- Top with more crushed Oreos or Mini Oreos.
- Vanilla Almond Bark or chocolate melts

- Sprinkles
- Rice Krispies Treats for the holidays are easy and festive with the added color of the season!
Instructions for Easy Oreo Rice Krispie Treats
First, measure out the Rice Krispies and put them in a large mixing bowl.
Then, in a large saucepan, melt the butter. Add the vanilla extract. Next, add the mini marshmallows in increments to the butter and continuously stir them until melted down. I add one full bag of marshmallows and slowly add more as they melt.

Once the marshmallows are melted into a smooth mixture, add in the extra 1-2 cups of mini marshmallows and mix in. (The extra marshmallows do not need to be melted.) Then, pour it into the bowl of Rice Krispies and gently stir them a turn or two. Now, add the crushed Oreos and stir until all cereal is coated. Do NOT over-stir.

Then, gently press the treats into a lightly greased 10×15-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish with the back of a spatula. (Do NOT firmly press these, or your bars will be dense and hard to eat.) Optional: Top with a dusting of sprinkles, more crushed Oreos, or melted almond bark/chocolate.

Finally, let them cool for at least 30 minutes to one hour. With a sharp knife, cut the treats into squares and enjoy! *Although these can be eaten immediately, they taste better and are easy to hold once they are completely cooled.

How to Store Rice Krispie Treats
Store Oreo Rice Krispies treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. The treats will become stale and less crisp, and the marshmallow will harden as the days go on.
How do to keep Rice Krispie Treat soft and chewy
For the BEST soft and chewy Oreo Rice Krispies Treats, do not overheat the melted marshmallows! Once you have melted the 20 ounces of marshmallows, remove the pan from the heat, add any optional marshmallows, and immediately stir it into the rice cereal. Overheating the marshmallows can crystallize the sugars and leave you with hard Rice Krispies treats.

Do not press down hard on the Rice Krispies and compact them into the pan when forming the treats. Just press down lightly until all the cereal is formed together, but do not press down hard as it will crush the cereal and compact the treats.

More Tips for the BEST Rice Krispies Treats
- Use fresh marshmallows. Old marshmallows dry out and become stale, leaving you with harder, less moist treats.
- Use a sharp knife when cutting the treats. This keeps things simple and is mainly so you don’t hate making them!
- Use separate bowls. Use a large bowl for the Rice Krispies and a saucepan for melting the marshmallows. Create a crater in the middle of the rice cereal and pour the melted marshmallows into that crater. Stir inward and keep adding the cereal to the marshmallows. Do this right, and the bowl comes out practically spotless. No sticky mess to clean up! I hated washing a sticky pan of cereal and marshmallows. Now I just quickly soak the saucepan, and everything washes up wonderfully!
- Variety is the key to Life! Make them your own! There are so many Oreo flavors and combinations on the market. There’s birthday cake, lemon, and peanut butter. The ones for the Fourth of July, Firework Oreos, even have popping candy in them. How fun! Pick your favorite and never be bored again!
