This creamy cottage cheese marinara pasta recipe is a high-protein pasta option for an easy lunch and dinner anytime!

Our family loves this cottage cheese pasta sauce! It has delicious traditional pasta flavors that are kid approved. It’s packed with more protein to keep everyone fuller and longer. Mom win. And this is a quick and easy recipe for busy days, like when you forgot about lunch when you should have started already making it.

Pasta with Cottage Cheese Sauce

The best thing about this pasta recipe is that it’s easy! It uses that last bit of cottage cheese left over in your fridge and a handful of staples you always have in the kitchen. Plus, this is a creative way to get your kids to eat more of a health-conscious diet without it tasting like it.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces pasta of choice
  • 1 cup cottage cheese, whole milk
  • 1 cup marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon or a pinch of red pepper flakes

Directions

First, boil heavily salted water and cook the pasta according to the package directions. Then reserve 1 cup of the pasta water. Drain pasta and return to the pot, cover.

Next, cream together until smooth the cottage cheese, marinara sauce, pasta water, shredded parmesan cheese, butter, and crushed red pepper flakes in a blender for 1-2 minutes.
