How to make Hamburger and Beans
With only three ingredients and ten minutes at the stove, you can have a great, effortless meal that pleases the tastebuds and is kid-friendly! This ground beef and baked beans recipe will take you by surprise and quickly become a favorite comfort food for your family.
Ingredients for Ground Beef and Beans
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- Lean beef has less fat that would need to be drained off once browned.
- 28 ounces canned baked beans
- This recipe works best with Original Bush’s Baked Beans, which are our family’s only baked beans.
- 13.5-ounce bag of ripple potato chips
- I have mentioned it before, but Walmart Great Value Ripple Chips are the best for dipping over the Aldi brand and any wavy chip. Ripple chips tend to hold more and pack a salty punch that we love!
Directions for Ground Beef and Beans
First, brown the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat until no longer pink, stirring frequently to break the beef into small pieces. If needed, drain the drippings. *We often brown the beef with a 1/4 cup of chopped onion and one teaspoon of garlic powder, but it is not necessary.
Then add the can of baked beans to the brown beef, stir, and heat through for about 5 minutes. Dip with a ripple chip. Serve with a green side, and enjoy!
Steamed vegetables or a simple salad would be great sides to serve with ground beef and beans. We love steamed corn, green beans, peas and carrots, and broccoli. They are easy enough to make and go with many dishes.
