First, line a 10×15-inch baking sheet with sides with foil and drizzle on the melted butter. Then cover each side of the potato slices in the butter and place them tightly side by side one at a time. Try to make sure that one side is completely touching the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the potato slices with salt.
Next, bake the potato slices at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the sides are browning. Hint: If the thickest potato slice is easily pierced with a fork, they are done!
Remove the slices from the oven and garnish them with the cheese and bacon bits. Place the baking sheet back in the oven for a few minutes(1-3 minutes) just until the cheese has melted, and then remove it again and garnish with the green onions. Cool for a minute and serve warm!
