How to make Sheet Pan Burgers in the Oven

Oven baking is the easiest way to make a quick hamburger. And since we are keeping the seasoning simple, these sheet pan hamburgers come together fast. Another benefit is the clean up is a breeze!

Ingredients for Simple Sheet Pan Hamburgers

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • Salt, pepper, Lawry’s Seasoned Salt to taste
    • For this recipe we used Lawry’s Seasoned Salt and pepper
  • Foil lined 10×15 inch rimmed sheet pan or baking sheet
    • The best pan to bake hamburgers in is a rimmed pan or baking dish. Beef contains a lot of juice and grease. The grease will spill over and make a mess of your oven if the beef is not baked on a rimmed pan. Foil-lining the dish isn’t completely necessary but keeps clean up easy!
  • Ground beef and simple seasonings of salt, pepper and Lawry's Seasoned Salt are all you need for these tasty Sheet Pan Hamburgers.
  • Condiments, buns, and garnishes for sheet pan hamburgers.

Directions for Oven Baking Hamburgers

First, In a foil-lined 10×15 inch rimmed sheet pan or baking sheet, evenly press down the ground beef to fill the entire pan. (Once cooked, the meat will shrink leaving about a 1-2″ gap around the entire pan.) Then season the beef to taste.

  • Two pounds of ground beef pressed into a foil-lined 10x15 inch rimmed sheet pan.
  • The pressed ground beef seasoned with Lawry's Seasoned Salt and a sprinkle of pepper.

Next, bake the beef at 425°F for 12-15 minutes until it’s cooked through. Carefully remove the baked beef, let it sit for a minute to reabsorb some of the juices, and then slowly drain off the remaining grease. Add sliced cheese and melt it in the warm oven for just a minute. Then cut your hamburgers to size. Garnish the burgers with any favorite condiments, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion if desired, and enjoy!

Notes:

If you are using only 1 pound of ground beef, use an 8×8 inch pan or only press the beef down in half of the 10″x15″ sheet pan.
