This Homemade Sheet-Pan Cheesy Breadsticks recipe is made from pantry staples, the perfect garlic seasoning, and cheese! We love them as a meat-free meal or as a side to our favorite Five Cheese Ziti and other pasta dishes. This recipe makes a large amount, making it perfect for families, parties, and leftovers!

Pillow-soft breadsticks that pull apart with ease, covered in garlic, Italian seasonings, and melted cheese, and ready to be dipped into marinara. These homemade cheesy breadsticks are a family favorite! Our kids will eat them as an entire meal. I do like to sneak in a mandated vegetable or two, though. Salads work great as a side, and our Sweet and Simple Parmesan Salad comes together quickly, making it a perfect side.

How to Make Easy Homemade Sheet-Pan Cheesy Breadsticks
I love an easy meal idea. These delicious sheet-pan breadsticks require no rise time, simple kneading, and a garlic seasoning that kids can help make and love!
Ingredients for Quick & Easy Sheet-Pan Cheesy Breadsticks
For the Breadstick Dough:
- 2 Tablespoons active yeast
- 2 1/2 cups warm water, 110°F
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 6 cups flour (720g weighed) (788g His Saving Grains), plus up to 3/4-1 cup more to form a smooth and stretchy dough.
- 1/2 cup melted butter, one stick
For the Italian Garlic Seasoning:
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
Cheese and other toppings:
- 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- optional red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions for Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, stir the yeast in warm water, and then add the sugar. Let this sit for 5 minutes or until it becomes frothy.

Next, stir in the oil, salt, and flour to form a soft and sticky dough.

Then, in the large bowl or on a floured surface, knead the dough for about 10 minutes, adding flour if needed, until it’s smooth and elastic. I will add 1/2-1 cup more flour depending.
Next, lay out a piece of parchment paper the size of the large rimmed baking sheet pan you’re using. Lightly flour the paper, then roll out the dough on the paper, shaping(pulling) it into a rectangle. Then, using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into breadsticks (rectangles) and twist them if desired (a.k.a. make them look fancy and fun). (Using parchment paper is optional. It makes transferring, cutting, and serving the breadsticks easier.)

Then, pull the parchment paper with the prepared breadsticks onto the rimmed baking sheet.

Make the Italian Garlic Seasoning:
In a cereal bowl, combine all the seasoning ingredients with a fork.

Bake the Breadsticks:
Then brush the melted butter on the breadstick dough on the rimmed baking sheet. Sprinkle the garlic seasoning on and top it with the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake homemade breadsticks in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let the breadsticks cool for a few minutes before eating. Dip them in your favorite marinara sauce. Enjoy!
