Creamy Chicken Alfredo Recipe
I started making homemade alfredo sauce with this easy recipe, and it’s still a favorite here. With these step-by-step directions making a restaurant-worthy dish is possible, trust me! You will not regret trying this amazing chicken fettuccine alfredo.
Ingredients
- 10 ounces fettuccini
- Or other favorite noodles. We have enjoyed thin spaghetti with this recipe as well!
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into smaller pieces all about the same size
- salt, pepper, garlic powder
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup butter, 1 stick divided(2TBSP & 6 TBSP)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- or whole milk if in a pinch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- parsley for garnish
Directions
First, boil a pot of water and cook the fettuccini noodles per box instructions.
Second, season the cut chicken breast pieces with a sprinkling of each salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Next, in a small bowl, combine the flour and one teaspoon of each salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Then coat all the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
Now in a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoon olive oil. Then place the chicken in the skillet and cook it through until all chicken is golden brown and has an internal temperature of 165°F. Place the chicken aside on a plate.
Then in the same skillet on medium, melt the remaining 6 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic, stirring constantly. Once the butter is completely melted, whisk in the heavy whipping cream, remaining stirring.
Now season the cream with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
Next, mix the shredded parmesan cheese until completely incorporated and the sauce thickens to your liking.
Finally, slowly stir in the cooked fettuccine until it’s evenly coated in the sauce and toss with the cooked chicken.
Garnish with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and/or parsley. Serve warm, and enjoy!
